Description
This module aims to provide the necessary knowledge to design, run
and basically write about an experimental procedure in psychology. During a series of lectures, five psychological experiments are completed. Each experiment is linked with a specific topic in psychology and is introduced by a brief lecture. The topics of the experiment are: The primacy and recency effect, Levels of processing, The Stroop effect, Correlations& Problem solving.
Students work individually and prepare 5 lab reports that are marked about their quality. They get feedback about the strong and the weak point of their reports. They are also learn how to prepare a poster based on the results produced from their experiments.


Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide the necessary knowledge for the design, run and especially the writing of a scientific research in psychology.
Specifically, upon completion of the course, students are expected to have acquired the ability to:
1. plan a research and set a research goal.
2. formulate a research question and formulate research hypotheses.
3. complete a bibliographic search.
4. construct data collection tools and collect empirical data.
5. perform simple statistical analyzes.
6. write research assignments in full of APA format.
7. to organize their time and study (the goal is achieved with strict deadlines for submitting five lab reports).
