THYMIC AND COGNITIVE FACTORS IN LIFELONG EDUCATION en
Description
The course aims at familiarizing students with the psychology of lifespan development and lifelong learning. The main theories of cognitive and socio-emotional lifespan development and the development of methods of lifelong learning based on the principles of these theories are discussed. Programs aiming to enhance cognition in adults such as programs developed to enhance memory through strategies' learning, interventions related to mental and physical exercise, programs designed to enhance cognition through the art and culture, as well as programs aiming to enhance cognition and well-being via a positive social participation and via strengthening of positive human characteristics are also examined.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students:
1. will obtain basic knowledge about cognitive and socio-emotional theories of lifespan development,
2. will obtain knowledge about methods of lifelong learning as well as about programs of cognitive enhancement and subjective well-being enrichment during the lifespan.
3. will also obtain some knowledge about the methodology of development of interventions aiming to enhance cognition and affect in adults.
4. they will develop their ability to critical evaluate empirical evidemce.
