The subject introduces in practice the main aesthetic principles, ideologies and literary critical practices of the literary theoretical schools of the last few decades in relation to poetry. It tests the hermeneutical and deconstructive models of literary criticism on actual poetic works from a range of genres and periods. It also covers models that defy the narrow definition of literary theory, such as modern cultural theories, feminist literary criticism and media studies. The main aim of the subject is to make the application of literary theoretical concepts and methods and the audience’s aesthetic experience conscious in reading poems.
