Description
The course gives the participants the potential to learn about theories and practices of the Psychiatric Institution disintegration as well as to study alternative theories and practices applied to support people with psychological problems, both in Greece and abroad. The course is based on essays prepared and presented in class by students on these issues.
Learning outcomes
• Students will be aware of the theoretical discussions that formed the basis for challenging the traditional psychiatric model of care
• Students will come into contact with the new roles of the mental health professions and the policies arising from the controversy of psychiatric institutions
